I have recently found some interesting information about some books which talk about the prophecies of Judgement and endtimes having been already accomplished in Jerusalem c 70 AD. ( This line of thinking I believe falls into the Preterist Camp of Theology Click here for a good article on why this thinking is erroneous ) .It always fascinates me how peope are so quick to find a theory that disproves the end time senario of the earth comming to an end and God judging the world. I must admit I can understand why people don't want to face judgement, and lets face it earth comming to an end is not always a pretty thought. After all there are some really great things about earth.

Facing judgement when you don't know the Judge is scary, facing the end of all things is scary too when you don't know what comes after. As scary as it maybe we all know that somethings are inevitable. Death and taxes come to mind. Everything dies on earth. Our science bears this out and we also know from science that even our sun will die one day. If this is a forgone conclusion then why do people want to discredit God's word on the subject? God is confirming the end that we know is comming, and surely understanding why it is comming can help us face it. Knowledge can help reduce fear. By understanding the creators purpose in bringing things to a close we can not only gain wisdom but we can also find a way to make sure we are not at odds with His purpose. After all it's better to work with the Boss than against Him, far more profitable for all concerned! We also need to understand the judgement part of the end. Because bringing things to an end with no reason means there is no purpose, and if you get anything from the Bible it will be a sense of "God has a plan and a purpose". Even if you don't like His plan and purpose it is pretty hard to ignore when reading His word.

So what is God's judgement and why do we have to have a "Judgement Day". Click here for piece on Judgement

Now understanding that judgement is a certainty when it comes to Biblical themes and also it is a certainty in the minds of the "Prophets, the Apostles and Jesus himself, we can turn our attention to why the advent in Jerusalem 70 AD cannot be the fullfillment of all  these things.

In order for the theory of ":fullfilled prophecy in Jerusalem 70AD" to be proven true the events in this happening must fullfill all parts of prophecy pertaining to the subject. In otherwords did what happen at this time fullfilll God's purpose, and did it accomplish all that the prophecies fortell. If not then it can't be the answer. We must remember there are a host of prophecies and prophets that God uses to unfold events through the course of HIStory.

So we need to ascertain two things. First what do the prophecies concerning the end and the judgement that accompanies it. Secondly we need to understand the purposes of God for us and this world. If you read the article linked in the first paragraph of this article you will already have seen some of the prophecies and heard why they were not fulfilled by a 'local jewish event'. I concurr with this reasoning, but I feel we would gain more if we come to an understanding of just what is to take place whenever it is that the end willl come. Then we too will not fall into a trap of thinking it has already been or start proclaiming it's today (ahead of God's schedule)

The very slow train wreck - there go the wheels.
By D.J. Ludlow Telstra Big Blog
Just when we thought we were really making progress toward a bright future of a harmonious "love-in", "Age of Aquarius",type world with hugs and kisses all round ... the wheels fell off .... again. But it's not a case of back to square one for the train keeps moving on and edging even closer to the inevitable.
I note from current headlines that the Cold War and the Arms Race never really went away at all (surprise, surprise). They were just waiting for the right time to come out of the closet again. It is still a case of Russia Vs the USA - but it is not the same world it was back then. Back then America had the world on its side. But the world is not on the side of America any more and there are new "beasts" of power gathering on the world stage. A new European Union and a new African Union who get along with Russia a whole lot better these days. Then of course there is the Middle East where it seems to be just about everybody against America and Israel. (Indeed it is almost like the whole world against Israel EXCEPT America). Who could have foreseen the current world situation 20 years ago let alone 2,000 ago?? And 60 years ago Israel did not even exist!!
But is it just blind (but incredible) coincidence that the current whole world situation revolves around Jerusalem (Called also Salem, Ariel, Jebus, the "city of God,") and Israel ... yet again?? We should bear in mind that Armageddon is not the name of a battle but of a PLACE. Armageddon means "mount of Megiddo", a place just North West of Jerusalem. A place where the nations gather to battle against ... Jerusalem and Israel! (Remember Israel did not exist a mere 60 years ago ANYWHERE, let alone in Jerusalem). Perhaps, if one tried hard enough, one could convince themselves it is all just a random accumulation of world events. What is harder to explain is who told the Prophets and Apostles about them 2,000+ years ago??
But before I go any further let's put to rest one common error many make. There are those who will try and tell you that all the prophesies either ended with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD or that because they didn't happen then they aren't going to happen now because they were all supposed to happen within the time of Jesus' generation. They come to this erroneous conclusion based on a single statement Jesus made, a statement that does not say what they THINK it says. Jesus said (English translation of course), after reciting several prophecies including His return:-
Mr 13:30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
or;
Lu 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
What they forget is that not only did Jesus rise from the dead, but He also raised others from the dead, most notable of them being Lazarus (but there were other also). Jesus differentiated between physical death and spiritual death, for Jesus could raise anybody from physical death, for to Jesus and the Lord they were not "dead" but only "asleep". (Lu 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.) To read the rest click on link below

Yuma Professor Breaks Down Mystery, Message Of Scrolls
Kuhlken said that despite conspiracy theories, the scrolls do not contain any stunning, secret information. She stressed that their importance isn't so much what they reveal as what they validate. According to Kuhlken, "What they tell us is that the Bible, over all these years, has been transmitted 99.99 percent correctly. They show how the Bible retained its integrity over the centuries, which is just incredible
